TikTok Lite Three Main Events

 

According to WiseApp, a data research company, South Koreans prefer online short-form videos over OTT(Netflix, Disney plus, etc.). They spend an average of 46.5 hours watching short videos and about 9 hours on OTT platforms monthly. TikTok is one of the most popular apps across all generations in South Korea. TikTok Lite, which is only available in South Korea and Japan, has increased its number of users through referral programs. The programs allow users to earn points by inviting their friends to join TikTok Lite. 

 

On this post, you can find what the key referral events are in TikTok Lite and how to tackle their tasks in order to receive the full rewards based on my experience of joining the programs. 

 

1. Time Limited Referral Event

In this event, there is a limited time for the invitation of friends. At the upper left corner of the event, you can see how much time you have to invite new users. It normally gives you about three days. 

 

Basic Rule: You must invite friends within a given amount of time, and the invited ones should sign up using the referral links you share. A new user also has to start checking in within 24 hours after creating an account. Then, they have to complete the 10-day check-in task starting from the sign-up date. The check-in task must be done consecutively without missing any day during the 10-day period.

 

The inviter must have at least two new users registered to get the first round reward. The amount of rewards varies depending on the time of joining the event. Often, both the inviter and the invitee receive rewards individually when the invitee successfully signs up and completes the first check-in. This is called a bonus point. The average bonus point is about 15,000 won.

 

Who is considered a new user?

1. They must not have made both TikTok and TikTok Lite accounts in the past, and they must live in South Korea. 

2. They must create an account via the referral link shared by their inviter. 

3. They should sign up within 24 hours of receiving the referral link. 

 

Based on the event's details, the game consists of three rounds. However, you don't need to wait for the first two friends to finish their tasks to progress to the second round. The round of your game is determined by the number of invitees. So, if you invite five new users, you'd be eligible to get second-round points once they finish their tasks. If you invite nine friends, then you'd get the third-round reward.

 

Number of invitees needed for each round (Accumulative)

First Round : Two users

Second Round : Total five users

Third Round : Total nine users

 

Additional Rules:

1. Friends must not miss any days during the 10-day check-in period.

2. Friends must not travel to other countries during the 10-day check-in period.

3. Friends must not be old users who have previously created accounts.

 

What matters is how many friends you invite and how many of them finish their tasks to get rewards. 

 

2. Unlock Game 

Unlock Event

Unlock Game is a time limited event as well. If you have promising two new users, then this game is the best option among all the referral programs. It gives you at least 250,000 won once your friends finish their tasks. You can see how much time you have for invitations at the upper left corner.

 

The basic rule is similar to the first one, but they are not the same. The common rule is that your friend must create an account via your referral link within 24 hours of receiving the link and complete the consecutive 10-day check-in mission. However, for this game, you can invite old users who have not logged into TikTok Lite for a certain number of days (usually 14 days).

However, a new user increases the progress rate by 4%, while an old user increases it by 0.2%, suggesting that TikTok prefers you to invite new users. If the combined check-ins of new users reach 10 days, the inviter can receive partial credit, typically around 100,000 won. The check-ins of old users do not contribute to the overall progress or provide any benefits in terms of rewards within the game.

 

There can be three scenarios for this game.

 

Scenario 1

You start the mission +80% → Share a referral link +10%(90%) → A new user is registered +4%(94%) → Another new user is registered +4%(98%) → Invitees finish their tasks +2%(100%)

 

Scenario 2 

You start the mission +80% → Share a referral link +10%(90%) → Invite 50 old users +0.2*50%(100%)

 

Scenario 3

You start the mission +80% → Share a referral link +10%(90%) → A new user is registered +4%(94%) → 25 old users are registered +0.2*25%(99%) → The new user finishes check-in mission +1%(100%) 

 

Side Notes: There are two tabs called 'Mission Record' and 'Status.' In 'Mission Record,' you can see if your invitees were registered or not, if invitees finished their tasks, and if partial credit was given. In the 'Status' tab, you can see the progress of check-in tasks once you have two new users registered. As mentioned earlier, the check-ins of old users don't affect the overall progress. Only new users matter.

 

3. You and I! 30,000 Points

This event is not time-limited for invitations. You can invite a new user, and they will complete the same 10-day check-in task. They must not miss a day during the task. Once the invitee finishes the task, each individual receives 30,000 points.

 

Before I wrap up, I want to re-emphasize the new user rule. 

 

Who is considered a new user?

1. They must not have made both TikTok and TikTok Lite accounts in the past, and they must live in South Korea. 

2. They must create an account via the referral link shared by their inviter. 

3. They should sign up within 24 hours of receiving the referral link. 

 

You might wonder, what if you send a referral link 11:30 PM and your friend creates an account at 1:00 am on the next day? According to the TikTok support team, as long as they sign up within 24 hours, they are still eligible to be considered a new user and their check-in counts normally.
